Brace Leadership

Have you noticed that most shows and TV programmes are hosted by two people, not one. Why not do this in church too – brace leadership! I’m not suggesting this for a traditional service but it works brilliantly for all-age or family services which need to be fast moving – brace leadership. I suspect it would work for cafĂ© church too but I have not tried it there. Now, I don’t mean one person leading and one person preaching, but two people doing both and bouncing off each other. Not only does it keep it moving but it means you can blood new people into leading much more easily. These type of services are the hardest to lead so how do we introduce new people into leading them without having a disaster – brace leadership! Put someone new with someone experienced and they do more and more as they grow in confidence and ability. To be honest, it does take a bit more preparation, but the benefits are well worth it. Is anyone else doing this? Do you have any questions about it? Let’s have a conversation on this new blog and learn together. George Fisher
